oh, hello.

Last night when my sister was teaching me how to sew a shirt, we were remembering our favourite Cosby Show episode when Denise offers to make Theo a shirt just as nice as the $95 designer Gordon Gartrelle one he wants. Silas found it on Youtube and we watched while I sewed.  Hands down, best episode.

These mini mandarin oranges are equally charming and frustrating. They’re so tiny and adorable yet so small that they’re edible in one mouthful, causing one to eat a ridiculous number of them in one sitting.
Unrelated: I made that shirt I’m wearing. My first sewn garment ever!

We like to dance. Sometimes in regular clothes. Sometimes in pajamas. Always to killer tracks.

I want to make sure I cover all necessary topics in the You Are Among Friends book (which will be published by the holidays, by the way! Start your letters to Santa now!). In writing the zine, I wrote directly to my memory of my twelve-year-old self. In the book, not only do I want to address a wider audience, but I also want to address a range of concerns wider than the ones I personally dealt with most.

Girls, ladies, women: What were you most concerned about as an adolescent? What made you deliriously happy? What did you worry about? What made you cry so much that your dad scolded you at the dinner table to “quit crying all the time?” (Oh. Just me, then?)

I’m asking that ideas be sent to me via my website—click the “Say Hi” link at the top.

I’d like this to reach as wide an audience of ladies as possible, so if you have it in your heart to give a girl a good old-fashioned reblog this morning, please do!

Hey internet! My friend Lindsey Markel is working on a pretty amazing project and she needs your help. Ladies, do me a solid and help her out!

I’ve decided I want to learn to play the ukulele.

That is all.

Nothing in this photo is in focus, but I still like it because of the content. Wine, friends, and good old fashioned board games based on colonizing and reaping natural resources.
Plus, I was using a sexy lens on the camera.

There’s hope for me yet!

Before I lived in Toronto, I never used cardinal directions to find my way around a city. I’d use “up” and “down” - referring to the direction of the water, which makes basically no sense in Victoria, or Halifax, or Vancouver, as they have water in all kinds of directions. Then “left” or “right”, having to explain whether you’re facing the water or not. Terrible!

I’m a better person now! Thanks, TORONTO!
